My work is an exploration of narrative surrealism and magical realism.
In the summer of 2021, I faced unexpected health symptoms consistent with electromagnetic energy and it was during this time that I turned to photography and creative editing to find solace, quietude and a deeper emotional resonance.
Rooted in the storytelling power of fairy tales and inspired by the nostalgic, soft-focused quality of childhood slide photography, I construct dreamlike landscapes that exist somewhere between our reality and a deeply felt internal world.
Each piece begins as an original photograph, which I systematically dismantle and merge with textures and multi-location imagery. Through intricate digital enhancement, I build painterly, layered compositions that evoke emotional depth and challenge the boundary between the digital canvas and traditional fine art. By juxtaposing mythic archetypes such as unicorns, dancers and anthropomorphic figures against surreal backgrounds, my imagery serves as a visual sanctuary. It asks the viewer to step out of the noise of modern life and into a state of quiet wonder and subconscious storytelling.
I occasionally enjoy entering exhibitions although I don’t use social media for my photography as of yet.
